SEM = Search Engine Marketing

SEP = Search Engine Optimization

PPC = Pay Per Click

CPC = Cost Per Click

It might seem confusing, but it really isn’t. The era of online marketing has been blooming, and while many companies have yet to jump on board, numerous companies are striving with these online tactics. I urge all businesses to get on board, marketing is key to a successful business, and online marketing is only going to get bigger. I highly reccommend Perry Marshall and Brian Todd’s amazing book “Ultimate Guide to Google AdWords”, it’s a step by step guide to build great online campaigns with proven results. Sign up for a free account at any of the major search engines. Here is some more information on the specific programs; Google AdWords, Yahoo! Search Marketing and Microsoft adCenter.

Companies that don’t have time to read the books, and put in the effort needed to be successful in online marketing, I strongly suggest checking out emarketed. They are an established online optimization and online solutions company dedicated to help your business strive in the e-world. Also check out the search marketing blog , tons of useful and intuitive information to help you succeed.

This blog will be your one stop blog for everything related to marketing. From SEM (search engine marketing) to local newspaper ads to banner ads and everything in between. So please join me for the ride, I promise it will be a blog that entertains, teaches and makes you laugh. I’m new to the blogoshphere, so I’ll bring my own twist to this ever expanding online phenomenon.

I just can’t get enough of the E*trade talking baby ads. Pure Genius! What makes it so genius is the fact that it’s such a simple concept. They’re targeting the male 24-40 range, and boy are these commercials working. The youtube videos have over 5 million hits and you can follow the talking baby on twitter @ http://twitter.com/etradebaby. You can also become a fan of the talking baby on facebook!

E*Trade will have these ads running all throughout the year, on both tv and print. E*Trade CMO Nick Utton said, ”Let’s be realistic, the market is in the worst state right now. Customer sentiment went to an all-time low in September. And more than ever [they're] looking for a solution,” said Utton. “We’re being very cautious of the tonality of the message, and we want to be front and center with consumers,”. Well Mr. Utton, my hats go off to your company and Grey New York (the ad agency responsible for the ads), the creation has been nothing less then amazing in a time where most commercials seem to be quite bland!
